चरक- तृप्तिघन वर्ग, स्तन्यशोधन वर्ग, दाहप्रशमन वर्ग, तृष्णानिग्रहण वर्ग, वयस्थापन वर्ग
सुश्रुत- गुडुच्यादि गण, पटोलादि गण, वल्लीपंचमूल
भावप्रकाश-
Synoyms
गुडुची - Guduchi protect from disease.
कांडोद्भवा - Guduchi can be propagated with stem.
अमृता - If planted Guduchi never die.
छिन्नरुहा - When cut Guduchi grown again.
चक्रलक्षणिका - When cut transversely the stem shows circular structure.
मधुपर्णी -When crushed, leaves give viscid juice like that of honey.
वत्सादिनी – Leaves of Guduchi is liked by Claves.
रसायनी - Guduchi has rejuvenating quality.
Habit
A large glabrous climber.
Habitat
Guduchi grows through all over parts of India. And commonly cultivated to excessive demand.
Morphology
- Stem – Succulent, corky and grooved stem..
- Bark- Branches sending down slender, pendulous fleshy root.
- Leaves- Cordate, membranous,5-10cm long, margin entire, tip pointed..
- Flowers-Monocious, greenish, Clustered in the axils of small subulate bracts, sepals 6 in number.
- Seeds- Broadly ellipsoid with ventral depression, slightly muricate.

Chemical Composition
Guduchi plant contains tinosporine, tinosporic acid, berberine, giloin and heptacosanol B-sitosterol.

वातरक्त - गुडुची क्वाथ, गोदुग्ध एवं तिल तैल को पाकसिद्ध करके वातरक्त व्याधि में प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
ज्वर- गुडुची का क्वाथ बनाकर सभी प्रकार के ज्वर में दिया जाता हैं।
प्रमेह- गुडुची क्वाथ का स्वरस निकालकर शहद के साथ प्रमेह रोगी को दिया जाता हैं।
