सुश्रुत- Triphala, Parushkadi gana
भावप्रकाश-

Synoyms

Amrita- If it consumed, untimely death does not occur.
Amalki- It is totally filled with the properties of rasayana.
Dhatri- It is mainly consumed by people who desire the rasayana properties etc.
Vayastha- It acts as rejuvenate. Sheetphalam- Its veerya is sheeta.
Vrishya- It is useds as Vrushya.

Habit

A small to medium sized deciduous tree, 8-18m in height with thin light grey bark exfoliating in small thin irregular flakes.

It is wieldy found in forest and cultivated in all over india.

Morphology

  • Stem - Straight and branched.
  • Leaves- subsessile distichous, closely arranged, oblong 1-1.5 * 0.3-0.6 cm, light green.
  • Flowers- Male & female in axillary fascicles together, greenish yellow.
  • Fruits (फल) - Fleshy, drupe, globose, with obscure vertical furrow, greenish yellow. Often splitting into three 2 seeded bony cocci.
  • Seeds- dark reddish brown, trigonous, hard.
