Perennial, bulbous herb.
Habitat
Grows in tropical and subtropical regions of India and Southeast Asia. Commonly found in gardens, forest clearings, and moist lands. Native to India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam.
Morphology
- Bulbous herb with long, strap-like leaves (up to 1 meter long)
- Flowers: White or pinkish, large, funnel-shaped, fragrant, arranged in umbels
- Bulb: Underground, large and fleshy
- Stem: Very short or absent
- Fruit: Capsule with black seeds

Leaf juice is used for wound healing and skin infections.
