It is a grass up to 3-6 feet heigh
Habitat
जलीय प्रदेशों में अधिक पाया जाता है|
Morphology
- Stem: Erect and stiff, capable of reaching heights of 3 meters (9.8 ft) under favorable conditions.
- Leaves: Long, thin, and narrow, with rough margins and a keeled appearance. They can grow up to 300 cm (10 ft) long and 8 mm (3/8 in) wide.
- Roots: A strong, deep-penetrating, aerenchymatous, and fast-growing root system, capable of reaching depths of 2-4 meters (7-13 ft). The roots are fibrous and aromatic, with a cream, gray, or light yellow to brown color.
- Inflorescence: Panicles are 15-30 cm (6-12 in) long with whorled branches.
- Flowers: Brownish-purple in color.
