Synoyms
हरिद्रा- Haridra is yellow coloured.
कञ्चनी- Haridra rhizome is yellow like that of gold.
निशा- Colour of Haridra is beautiful like a moon night.
वर्ण विलासिनी- Haridra is attrative bright yellow colour.
क्रिमिग्ना- Haridra is efficacious anthelmintic drug.
हट्टविलासिनी- Attract to costumer in the market.
योषितप्रिया- Haridra is a best cosmetic substance liked by females.
Habit
A tall perennial herb, with large root stock up to 2-3 ft height.
Habitat
Turmeric is cultivated in all over India as a commercial crop.
Morphology
- Stem - Lage cylindrical, green colour
- Leaves-Very large, margin entire, tip acute up to 1-2 ft long.
- Flowers- Pale yellow as long as bracts, corolla tube funnel shaped, upper half which is pinkish white.
- Rhizome- look like ginger, but size large.
