Native to India, especially in forested and sub-tropical regions of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, Grown in loamy, sandy soils with good drainage.

Grows up to 30–60 cm tall
Long, narrow, lanceolate leaves forming a rosette from the root crown
Small white star-shaped flowers on slender stalks
Tuberous roots: soft, white, cylindrical, and clustered – the medicinally valuable part
Used in male infertility, low libido, and erectile dysfunction
Effective aphrodisiac and spermatogenic agent
Acts as a general tonic for weakness, fatigue, and recovery
Beneficial in oligospermia, arthritic pain, and diabetes (mild hypoglycemic action)
